How much...so glad you asked...this great package will be available for the grand total of $15.00.

Snowman Gift Card Holder

Thanks to some very talented ladies, I copied this little snowman gift card holder. I love my punches and big shot. The card is a standard card, however, I placed it over the scallop circle die and created this cute scalloped design. The snowman is made using the ornament punch and 1/2' circles for his hands. The silver cord is perfect to hang this on the tree with a gift card inside.

Hope your holiday preparations are coming along better than mine. With any luck this weekend we will get our tree and decorate the house...without snow and cold weather it doesn't feel like Christmas.

Let me know what you think...

Upcoming Events...Friday Dec 11th...come on over to my house, we will make one of these little guys and maybe something else...more details will be sent out via email. If you want to get on my mailing list, please let me know.

What a weekend

What could be better than spending a day stamping with friends....the answer, a second day stamping with family. This was such a great weekend. Sat, 5 ladies joined me as we cropped for the foodbank. Thanks Ladies for your donations to the foodbank, and for the fun and fellowship we shared. These Ladies are known as the “Phi Beta Scrappa Sista’s”, I hope to become a member...so much fun.

Then on Sunday as we celebrated my Mom's, my Sisters, and my nieces birthdays, we set up and stamped all afternoon.

It doesn't matter if you are creating with one friend, or a room full...the laughter and love shared is priceless.

Enjoy your week, and let me know how those Christmas cards are coming along!!!

Sunday Special...

Hello Stamping Friends. I finally have my camera back, so wanted to show off what I made today. When the new in colours came out, the least favourite for me was crushed curry. I have used it on it's own with white, and was quite happy, however, just couldn't seem to find the right combo with other colours. Today while scanning Splitcoast, I saw a great card, and immediately had my inspiration. Be sure to check out this blog for other wonderful creations. This card also demonstrates the versatility of the ornament punch. I just snipped off the bottom and now it is a lovely vase.

Now for the "Special". In honour of next Saturday's Crop for the foodbank (by the way still plenty of spots lefts!) I am offering a special. For any order over $25.00 before shipping and taxes, you can select anything from page 208 of the Idea book. This includes "Dasher"...one of my most favourite stamps this year.

I know, I know...

it has been far too long since I posted anything here. I have tons of items to show you, but my daughter borrowed my camera! For your viewing pleasure in the mean time, take a quick tour of my demo site, and check out all the specials.

Another reminder of our Christmas Crop for the Foodbank. Please join the fun, and help us collect food for those less fortunate.

This card was made by a fellow demo, and I took the picture...love this set "Wandering Words" from the mini catty...

Thanks Ladies....

Last night 3 lovely ladies, Crystal, Jan and Jenn, joined me in my craft room and we all worked on our own projects. My Hubby has seasons tickets to the London Knights, so rather than sit by myself, I am starting "bring your own project" nights. Watch for upcoming dates, once I have November figured out...you will be the first to know when to come over. These are free nights. Just bring your own paper and project ideas, and use my big shot and stamps if you like. The more the merrier.

These are quick ornaments that are a great way to use up all those scraps of dsp I just can't throw out. All the directions are from Splitcoast Stampers...check it out here.

Today has been a beautiful, sunny fall day. Hubby is off to the hockey game tonight, so Carol and I are going to see "Couples Retreat"...hope it is as funny as the previews indicate. It has been forever (I really don't remember the last time) that I went to the movies with a friend...this will be a nice treat!

My House...tonight!

Hi Ladies...finally Friday...hip hip hooray! I was actually home yesterday as my girl was sick from the meds she was taking for her teeth. No matter how old they are, they still need there Mom when not feeling so great!

If you live in the area...please feel free to pop over tonight. Bring your own project and play along with me!

7-9, at my house.

As promised, here are more cards that I totally cased from Andrea. I added a few drops of old olive re-inker to a few drops of Champaign mist shimmer paint. To apply this to my stamp I used a sponge dauber. The effect is soft and shimmery....I love it, and a LITTLE goes a long way. Enjoy your day, and I hope you get out this weekend...the news just said 14 degrees on Sunday...

Inspiration from Andrea

Andrea Walford is a very talented, creative and generous person. Her blog is fantastic, and what I appreciate the most, she gives the measurements...so to copy her is a no brainer!!

It took no time at all to create 6 cards. I did change up her idea a bit, my card is chocolate chip, with real red accents. The snowflake is a sizzlet die from the big shot. Wandering words, is the stampset I used, from the winter mini...such a great set.

Be sure to check out her ideas...you won't be disappointed. Check back tomorrow for more inspiration from Andrea...

Friendship

Happy Wednesday to you all. I am at home today, and hope to get some stamping projects accomplished. My "baby" Kathryn had 2 wisdom teeth out this morning...what a trooper....it took the dentist almost 1 hour to pull the bottom tooth..the roots were wrapped around the bone, but after lots of wiggling and giggling, he got it out! We are very lucky to have a caring and kind dentist here in town. It saved going to a surgeon and being put under, and I know we saved some $$$ too!

The card today uses a wonderful set called Season of Friendship, it has a seasonal theme, so if you are looking for an all purpose set...this may be it.

Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to check out my demosite for all the information on the specials this month...including how you can get "FREE" decor elements.

Crop-a-Looza

I have heard about these all weekend long crop fests, and have to admit, never really contemplated attending. However, my friend Karen asked if I would like to be a vendor at their retreat at beautiful Elmhurst. Let's just say...I am so glad I went....I had a wonderful time. Karen and Lisa had everything so well organized, the venue was beautiful and I got to play and stamp with alot of new stamping friends.

If you get a chance to go to an event like this...here are some tips from me to you!
* plan your projects, I had a list of what I needed and wanted to accomplish and I am so glad I planned ahead.
* take your camara...there were so many lovely projects and designs techniques (insert sad face, I forgot my camara!)
* Use ziplock bags to plan your pages or cards, and make a list of all the supplies you need. (that way you won't take 20 ink pads, and only use 6, voice of experience)
* Be open to sharing your stuff...the simple gesture of leaving my punches out, was so appreciated.
* Have fun..I sure did, and as soon as the next date is set, I will let you know. Nilestown will be the next venue, 2 days in April, not overnight.

The cards pictured were made using some left over designer paper. The DSP was cut at 3 x 4.25, and the matte is cut at 4.25 x 3.5.

Great way to use up some DSP for fast and easy card giving.

What would you do with a $175.00 SU gift certificate?

Buy a big shot? Order the new My digital studio? Stock up on the basics?

Here is how you can "win" a $175.00 gift certificate from Stampin Up. Buy the project pictured here, the little bag with 2 cards, and you will get a "square". There are 40 projects available. Once all the projects are sold, I will draw a number...and the first prize is the $175.00 Gift Cert. That's not all, I will draw another number, and that person will win a $25.00 gift certificate, but not stopping there, the 3rd number drawn will win $20.00 in free merchandise, and if that isn't enough, the 4th number out will win a level one hostess set from this years catty, or mini!

Project cost is $5.00

Numbers 4, and 22 are already taken...so email me soon, and I will get your project to you.

Happy Thanksgiving

Take time and count your blessings today. Family, friends, the abundance of my blessings are many. Enjoy your weekend, and if I had taken my camara with me this weekend I would be showing you some cards I made...but that will have to wait till tues...
We are closing up our trailer, and while it is a little cool, the leaves are lovely, and it is nice to get away one final time.

Some interesting tidbits..The native peoples of the Americas held ceremonies and festivals to celebrate the completion and bounty of the harvest long before European explorers and settlers arrived in what is now Canada. Early European thanksgivings were held to give thanks for some special fortune. An early example is the ceremony the explorer Martin Frobisher held in 1578 after he had survived the long journey in his quest to find a northern passage from Europe to Asia.

Many thanksgivings were held following noteworthy events during the 18th century. Refugees fleeing the civil war in the United States brought the custom of an annual thanksgiving festival to Canada. From 1879, Thanksgiving Day was held every year but the date varied and there was a special theme each year. The theme was the "Blessings of an abundant harvest" for many years. However, Queen Victoria's golden and diamond jubilees and King Edward VII's coronation formed the theme in later years.

From the end of the First World War until 1930, both Armistice Day and Thanksgiving Day were celebrated on the Monday closest to November 11, the anniversary of the official end of hostilities in World War I. In 1931, Armistice Day was renamed Remembrance Day and Thanksgiving Day was moved to a Monday in October. Since 1957, Thanksgiving Day has always been held on the second Monday in October.

Create for a Cure

Thank you so much to the 41 Ladies who helped us raise over $1100 to fight breast cancer. We also need to thank our sponsors TD Canada Trust, and my wonderful hubby who works for East Elgin Concrete Forming LTD. The donation from East Elgin enabled us once again to offer a Big Shot as the grand prize.

Congrats to Linda who was our luck lady. Very fitting as Linda is fighting cancer, we were delighted that you were the winning ticket holder.

Here are some of the projects we made. Each lady made 12 cards, a treat bag, and had the chance to do 2 more special projects.

Lisa and I are already making plans for a spring version of this event, and I am also running a "Toys for Tots" event, near the end of November...watch this blog for more details.

It really is true that the more you give the more you get, and I am so grateful for the support, fun and energy that we created yesterday. God Bless you all and make sure you actually put stamps on those envelopes and mail those beautiful cards you made!!!

New paper, new stamps, new embossing folder...

Look what you can do in 5 minutes...seriously...I ran a piece of whisper white through the big shot, using the new embossing folder in the mini. Add some new designer paper, ribbon, and the cute little reindeer from Merry and Bright...ans voila...a quick, easy and lovely (if I do say so myself)card.

The base is old olive, layered with chocolate chip and real read...my all time favourite combo for Christmas. I sponged all the edges with some choc chip to give a distressed look.

If you live in Canada...remember, my shop is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week for your shopping enjoyment.

Local gals...I have a booking bonus for Oct....book a workshop, and I will give you an embossing folder like the one I used on this card.

Let me know if there is a specific technique you would like to see...I love a challenge!

No Designer paper was used in the making of this card!

Way back when I first started stamping, background stamps were the way to go. No designer paper in those days! Well the times have changed, and I use DSP on most of my cards. In straightening up my stampin room I came across the french script, and then used the Baroque Motif over top. I used the new soft suede paper and ink...this is so elegant. I brushed the edges of 3 pretties flowers and added pearls. Hope the happy couple likes this...

Thanks for stopping by....we are now officially sold out for our Create for the Cure event...maybe we need to start a waiting list!!!

I will never forget standing by my Mom's bed as the doctor confirmed that yes, she did in fact have Breast Cancer. In a word "devastating". She served Christmas dinner wearing a Santa hat to cover her bald head. What a trooper.

The good news..that was 12 years ago...and she will cooking Christmas dinner for us this year too!

Lisa and I are so excited about our Create for the Cure event. Together we can help stamp out breast cancer. Our projects are awesome, we have some surprises that you have to be there to take advantage of, great prizes...and the satisfaction that you are making a difference in the fight against breast cancer.

A quick sneak peak....

Here is one of the cards we are making tomorrow. The snowflake stampset is brand new. Paired with the designer paper and the new shimmer paint, and faster than you can say "stamp it" you have a lovely little Christmas card.

I will post all 5 cards tomorrow, after everyone is finished. If anyone is interested, I can make these available as kits. I will do all the stamping...all you need to have is adhesive.

The cost of the kits will be $8.00 which will include the 5 cards and envies. All the proceeds from any kits sold will be donated to our fundraiser for the fight against Breast Cancer.

Good luck getting your kiddies ready for back to school. Ever since my kids were little I made it a tradition to take the first day of school off. Even though Meaghan is in 3rd year nursing at UWO, and Kathryn starting Grade 12...I am carrying on the tradition...and spending the day in the company of other stampers...it will be a great day!

Keep checking in...Lisa and I will be releasing ALL the details for the Create for a Cure on Oct 3rd.

Just Buzzin by with a quick little post

At long last summer...what a wonderful day it was...hot and sunny! I took a minute to make this card (4 actually). Added some glitter to the wings, and used the medium flower from the daisy die as the frame to the little bee.

The card base is so saffron, and I used chocolate chip ink. The designer paper is retired, but adds just the right touch for the bees.

Thanks for stopping by....

Lovely Weekendd

My beautiful Niece Jennifer was married on Sat. What a day...the hydro was out in the town of Belleville, including the church. The priest called a guitarist to play while they marched down the aisle. As the Mom's lit the unity candle...the lights came back on....the timing was perfect and so was the ceremony and the party rocked!

As a family we got together 2 weeks ago to make 300 top note bags. They turned out great and we had so much fun putting them together.

Dates to remember: Sept 8th, at 10, 1 and 7....Mini Catty preview
Oct 3..create for a cure

Going to the Chapel....

Here is the card I made for the wedding this weekend...the whole family is so excited for Jen and Bobby...it is going to be a huge celebration.

Lately there have been tons of white cards on Splitcoast. Using sketch challenge 214 as the starting point..here is the outcome. All the layers were run through the big shot using various texture plates and I distressed the edges. The butterfly is also from the big shot and I used some glue and dazzling diamonds to add some glitz. The hat pin in the bow is from the pretties kit.

Dates to remember:
Sept 8th...mini kick off day
Sept 22nd, scrapbook in a box
Oct 3...Create for a Cure, help stamp out Breast Cancer.

thanks for stopping by...I do like to know you visited, so leave a comment please!

Scrap book in a box..Class Sept 22nd

Here it is...the awesome project we made on Saturday at the Razzle Dazzle Extravaganza! This is a scrapbook in a box. It is so easy to put together, and with that in mind, I am hosting an event on Sept 22nd, so you too can see how easy this is to complete. There is even room for journalling in the centre...or to leave a secret message.

The cost of this class is only $10.00 or FREE if you introduce someone new to stamping!

I do need to pre-order supplies for this class, so the last day to register is Sept 8th. That day is also my "day long" mini kick off.

For those who are on my mailing list, you may think it is from only 10-12, however there are 2 more sessions:
10-12
1-3
and
7-9

If you live in Canada...remember, these offers can be done "take out style" if you would like. The cost is the same I will even through in the postage to get it to you on your first take out kit!

I am open to your ideas, and if there is a project or technique you would like to learn, just let me know.

One sheet wonder

What do you do when you are at the beach, with limited supplies, time on your hands and the desire to create? Well, I took a piece of vanilla card stock, my fifth avenue floral stampset, and the new incolour markers...and made my own designer paper. I then found a great sketch to use as inspiration, and quicker than you can say "put on more sunscreen" I have a cute card to show for my efforts!

I still have plenty of the designer paper, and will make some more cards later this week. The twine was in my hubby's cubby, and works just as well as ribbon (good thing, because all my ribbon is at home!)

It was a lovely hot day today, but so windy, the sand was blowing all over, so I just relaxed at the trailer. Life is rough!!

Hope you enjoy this card, and be sure to stop by Mercy's blog and tell her I sent you!

Toadally Awesome

Here is another little punch creation. These little toads hop out all over the net, however I did use Dawn's video for this little guy! The water lily is some velum run through the Big Shot. The edges are sponged with Melon Mambo. He "hopped" on out to PWCC last night and paid a visit to my daughter who is the summer director.

I am so glad my "girl on the beach" brought so many smiles to all of you! I can hardly wait to hear what my other daughter has to say about it!

Let me know what you think!

Fun in the Sun

There are so many talented ladies with blogs that I find myself spending far too much timing surfing the net rather than actually making something. Jackie is a creative genius, and this card is totally cased from her site. Her lady had a dress, so I wanted my girl to be sun bathing, so I used the little flowers from the 3 for you punch, the body is the 13/4 circle, head is 1 1/4" circle. Her arms are little hearts turned on their side. I have tons of leftover pieces from scrapping kits, so all the paper and flowers are from a retired kit. The little flip flops are from the dollar store.

Hopefully we will continue to get great weather so we can do some sun bathing....

Dasher

This little guy was the first thing that caught my eye in the new catty. His name is Dasher, and he is a single stamp that only costs $10.95. I used white craft ink for everything, then embossed with white embossing powder. The snowflake is from a new set that will be available Sept 1, called Elegant Snowflakes.

What do you think about the colour? Bermuda Bay is certainly not a traditional Christmas colour...but I love the combination of the white on this striking colour....let me know what you think.

Be sure to check out my DEMO site to order any of the supplies, or to get some ideas and inspiration directly from Stampin Up.

Sneak Peak of the Holiday Mini..and Save the date!

There is a new mini launching on Sept 1, and as a demo, I get to preorder...and it came today!!! I am in love with all the new stampsets, build a bear bigshot dies, paper, ribbon...well you get my drift! (I hope)

A very new and innovative idea are the little treat cups that cooridinate with a stampset called Sweet Centres...I will be showing more of this set in the coming days. For today I made these cute little favours. Totally copied from this amazing BLOG.

For those of you who know us, will remember that Lisa and I hosted a "Create for the Cure" event to help stamp out Breast Cancer. Well, we are doing it again...more details will be coming, but for now SAVE THIS DATE! Oct 3rd! We are hosting this event earlier this year as there is a lot going on in Oct.

If you want to be first in line, leave me a comment and I will send you the card I am posting tomorrow! Another new stamp that I just got today that I am so happy to share!!

We had so much fun...

last week at my house stamping up a storm!!! Then, last night, we got hit with a HUGE thunder and lightning storm. Talk about the "thunder rolled"..it sure did. My good friends Jen, Jan and Barb are at the trailer...and I think they may have thought they might need to "click" their heals together, cause they "weren't in Sauble" anymore. Apparently there are trees down...wild!

Anyway...last thurs 4 lovely ladies joined me for a fun night of trying out the big shot, working on their own projects and making a little "Rebecca Riddler". I made a card, then put all the elements for each lady in a baggie. They had no idea what the original card looked like...and had to work out the "riddle" to complete their cards. Keep checking in as we are going to do this again.

Hope the weather is sunny and bright where you are...we are headed into some muggy days and nights...but better than the cold!
