Aren't these the most adorable little birdhouses? These were made using one of the new dies for the BigShot...the milk carton, and turned into these delightful decorations. Just think of the possibilities...all decked out for Easter, stuffed with mini egss, or how about next Christmas, hanging on your tree? There are so many ideas for these little gems...

Help for Haiti

Help make a difference in the lives of those who continue to suffer from the effects of the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti on January 12.

From now until February 28, 2010, Stampin’ Up!® will set aside $2 USD from the sale of every I {Heart} Hearts stamp set and donate it to the American Red Cross’ Haiti Relief and Development Fund. The Red Cross is already well established in Haiti, and this money will be used to provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need.

#118571 - I {Heart} Hearts - clear-mount (block D) $24.95
#117010 - I {Heart} Hearts - wood-mount $35.95

In addition, for every set that I sell, I will also donate $2.00 to the Canadian Red Cross.

This is a very fun set, and can be used all year round. I will be placing an order Sunday evening, so let me know if you are interested.

As an interesting aside, I am sure alot of us will be glued to our televisions tonight watching the telethon. Some of my friends at work (TD Canada Trust) are actually volunteering their time tonight to help with the telethon. Take time and make a call...every little bit helps!

Fabric Flowers

Monday night I took a huge leap of faith and demonstrated how to make these cute fabric flowers. My audience, a group of talented Stampin UP demos. Thanks Ladies for your kind comments and encouragement. These are so fun to make and a great way to recycle. All the material I used, including the denim, was from old clothes.

There are 2 dies you can use. For the smaller cream flower I used the flower layers with leaf die, and for all the others, the flower folds die. The best instructions I have found are by Dawn Griffith. Check out her video HERE. No matter which die you use, or even if you cut out material by hand, the same folding technique applies.

Thanks for stopping by, and if you are interested in learning how to make these, let me know and we can set up a workshop! Thanks Aleasha for sharing your pictures with me.

I finished my Scallop Square bag...

The Big Shot isn't just for paper...and I am loving playing with material, and my sewing machine. Using the scallop square die, I cut out 38 squares of material, 19 pieces of batting, the sewed them up. Angie Juda has a wonderful tutorial on how to make these little purses. If you are interested in making one...check out her VIDEO. These are very easy, even for a novice sewer.

I have also been making some of the fabric flowers that are so popular right now...so check back tomorrow for another "how-to".

Masculine card

It is never easy for me to make a card for a guy. Maybe I just need more practice, and force myself to make these more often. I stayed away from stamps for this design, with the exception of the sentiment, which is an old fave...Sincere Salutations. Punches, some designer paper, and some left over stickers from a Simply Scrappin Kit, and my card is complete. What do you think?

Let me know you have stopped by...

Fabric and the Big shot...

Check back later this week to see what this pile of fabric transforms into. I use the Big Shot, the scallop square die, and my new sewing machine to turn a little pile of fabric into a special project...

Sunday Sketch

I am playing along with a new sketch challenge...find the link HERE. The new in colours are so much fun to work with. The base is melon mambo, layered with the dsp from the razzleberry paper. The butterflies are cut out with the big shot. Add some ribbon, and layer on the sentiment, and a quick and cute birthday card for my niece.

Enjoy this lovely sunshine and hope you stay warm

Butterflies taking flight...

Good Morning Friends...have you checked out all the new goodies in the Salebration flyer yet? Have you selected your FREE product? Go HERE, to see all the yummy new merchandise Stampin Up has just released. Let me know if you need one of the brochures.

For today's card, I used a whole sheet of cardstock in crushed curry. One of my daughter's teachers are having surgury, so this is for the entire class to sign. The stampset is Flight of the Butterfly...such a versatile stampset. I cut the scallop circle with the big shot, then free handed the other circles. The ribbon is dusty durango.

Love my Big Shot

I can't begin to tell you how much I love my Big Shot. It not only cuts paper, it cuts cork, fabric, metal...and a host of other wonderful materials.

The inspiration for this little project came from a blog I frequent daily...check it out here. Lyssa is so talented. Instead of making a card for my daughter's 18th birthday, I made up this little bulletin board as a remembrance of her big day!

Let me know if you need a copy of the new Salebration or Mini brochures. Happy Sunday. The fireplace is burning, and we are getting ready to cheer on Team Canada today at 5pm.

Get ready for Valentine's day

Take a look at the new heart treat cups that will be available on Jan 5th. Combine these with the heart punch and coordinating stampset, to create delightful valentine treats for your favourite Valentine.

Hope you had a wonderful new Year. Who watched the Canada/US World Junior game last night? How exciting to see the Canadians come through in the shoot out! Go Canada Go!

We are enjoying a jammie day in front of the fireplace, watching an old black and white Jimmie Stewart movie, and lazing about.

Do you make New Year's Resolutions? For me, I need to tidy my stamping space so I can actually get to my table and create something. As Scarlett O'Hara always said...."Tomorrow is another day!"...so cleaning will wait till tomorrow!

Feel free to share your resolutions with all of us. Happy New year!

Heart Punch pg 187 item #113694 $22.95
Heart Treat cups item #120435 $3.95
