Is there too much going on here???

Wow, another hot, hot, hot day. I actually cranked up the air conditioning and spent the afternoon inside my little tin box (trailer) and made some cards. The cards were inspired by Shari Winterstein, and the box was made by following this VIDEO! Once I had everything punched out, I wonder if there isn't too much Poppy Parade? This is just my first stab at this project, and I may use softer colours next time.

The box is so easy, and uses just one piece of paper. I was able to get 6 cards, with layers inside. I think these will make nice little gifts to have on hand.

It is getting a little cooler now, so before I put the finishing touches on the cards, I actually headed to the beach. Watching the sunset after a hot, humid day, is the perfect ending to a hot day!

If it is as hot tomorrow as today, I think I may stay inside and play again!!!

Thanks for waiting for me...I went to the beach from 530-730...fantastic way to end the day!

I am a bad blogger....

As my wonderful niece, Jennifer Jane, reminded me...I had promised a lot more posts while I am on vacation. So, despite the heat (30 with humidity)and the fact my tape is all sticky and I am hot, and needing a nap....I made 2 cards!!!

I used the set Contempo Christmas, and the new embossing folder that will be available on Sept 1st from the new Holiday Mini. This card was totally cased from LEE, other than the embossing folder and the colour I picked for the ornament.

This is such a quick and easy card to make, and once again, the Big Shot adds instant elegance to an other wise pretty plain card. Adding on some of the new bling adds a little sparkle.

Let me know which bow you like best....the one with the loops, or the one without! Either way, I hope you are staying cool, I hear a Caesar calling my name!!!

Thanks Jennifer for reminding me of my promise! Hope you like them. Happy Anniversary to you and Bobby...my how time does fly!!!

All boxed up...

Man, for the 2nd day in a row, I slept through the Young and the Restless...the price you pay for vacation!! HaHaHa....it was a fantastic day at the beach. The sun was shining, there was a lovely breeze blowing...and I got to spend the afternoon crafting.

This is a fun little project, a quick and easy box that holds 8 3 x 3 note cards. The directions are found here, and I followed them to a tee. One sheet of designer paper, some card stock, and a little ink, and there you have it. Be sure to check out Chiaki's other projects...I have a list I hope to get to this week. She is one talented lady...and best of all her tutorials are FREE.

Hope you are enjoying this lovely summer evening.

Who Gives a Hoot????

Take a look at all the owls. These little guys were made using the Owl Punch. All these cards were shared at the "All boxed up event" I attended on Saturday. If you see the card you made here, let me know and I will give you credit.

This is a quick post tonight...I am on vacation. It is a lovely evening here, and I have nothing planned but a little television, some blog hopping and to be early. Life is rough...I already had a 2 hour nap this afternoon.....

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Hello Stamping Friends. Wow, what a day we had yesterday. 60 stampin ladies, tons of inspiration and so many ideas my head is about to burst.

You have seen here on my blog, some of the benefits of being a demo, and yesterday was our big quarterly meeting. Prizes, fun, and demo theatre, inspirational talks from a Stampin Up SAM...all the way from Utah.

Watch this week as I will be posting daily...yes, I know I promised that last week, but I am on vacation...so I PROMISE. Check in everyday...if I haven't posted, and you make a comment, I will send you a card!!!

Take a look at the eye candy I posted....this is a sample of some of the exciting items in the new Holiday Mini...let me know (if you are in Canada) if you would like a copy. While I am on vacation I will be creating projects using the mini and the fun stampset I got yesterday "Contempo Christmas"...so fun.

Tomorrow I am heading to the beach. Not coming home till Labour Day Monday...creating, relaxing and perhaps a bonbon or 2! Life is grand, and I am blessed to be able to go away for so long!

Pocketful of Thanks

Good Monday Morning Stampin Friends. This is going to be a jammed pack week for me. The most exciting part is tomorrow I get my pre-order from the Holiday Mini. I am doing up a bunch of special projects to put on display at a big event this weekend, so my goal (and I am counting on you to keep me on track) is to post a project each day till Saturday. These projects will be all Christmas in theme, and will be decorations for your tree and to help get you thinking about the Holiday season.

Today's card is made with a base of Peach Parfait, and I used the mini envelop die for the big shot to make the little envie on the front. I like how the note pops out.

It is too hot outside to do anything, so stay indoors and make something. Leave me a note so I can check out your creations!!!

I Challenge you to...

make a card using this layout! Go on give it a try. I found a new site that posts clean and simple challenges. This is a great source of inspiration as the sketch is provided along with the dimensions. LOVE IT!

* The background layer is 1.75 x 5.5.
* The next strip is 1.75 x 5.
* Each square is 1.5 x 1.5.

The idea for cutting up the focal point of the image from Because I care, was a total case from HERE. She has a great blog, so scroll through at your leisure.

I am busy counting down the days till I leave for vacation. My goal is to post a project a day...we will see how good I am at keeping my promise!!!

Sorry to be such a tease....

but I just can't help myself. As a demo we get so many perks, one of which is sneak peaks and exclusive merchandise. For the longest time I have wanted a craft tote, but never found one that was just right. Well, along comes a demo order and here is the bag I snagged...isn't it pretty??? It is extra large, see it holds a 12 x 12 craft keeper and still has room for punches, paper and so much more!

Why am I showing you this, when you can't have it? Well...YOU CAN! Sign up today, and you too can order your very own craft tote! Don't delay...head on over to my demosite HERE, enter the password wheeles08 and you too can start your career with Stampin Up! Great friends, great product, and the potential to earn as you play!!!

I would love to meet with you if you are local, or if you live in Vancouver or Halifax...you can still join my team! Let's start a "Cross Canada" group...and get a demo in every province!

Lovin the Newsprint Designer Paper

Quick post as I need to head out to work...Once again I totally copied someone's design off the internet, so if this is yours, please take credit. The newsprint DSP works so well with the Artistic Etchings stampset. I added a splash of colour when I add the sentiment in Cherry Crumble.

Enjoy your Monday...I am counting down to my next vacation...and getting organized on what to take and what to leave at home!!

A little birdie told me...

A new club is forming!!! Let's get together for a regular night of crafting and creating. Earn some free product, have fun, learn some new tips and techniques, and best of all...I DO ALL THE WORK! You don't even need to clean your house, because we will meet at my house...the month you are the hostess, bring a simple treat, some extra friends, and we will laugh and create at my house.

Now, on to the cards for today. At convention, which one of these years I will get to, they showed these really cute little gift card sets. All you do is take a small open ended envelope (pg 171, $9.50 for 20) and seal it up. Then along the top edge, slice off a very tiny strip of the envelope. Fold it in half, add some ribbon and trim, and you have a cute little package to leave on someones desk, or to tuck in your purse when you need a little thank you card. We used the extra large bird punch, but check in later this week to see a set made with the owl punch.

Enjoy your Sunday.

Quick and Easy note cards..New Club Forming.

You know how just when you need a card the most, and your desk is covered with too much stuff to even stamp, and you can't find your cutter....well you know! Here is the answer to all your troubles. Keep a package of Note Cards and envelopes, pg 171 from the new catty. You get 20 cards and envies for only $7.50. It literally took me 10 minutes to make 10 quick cards. I used these as my thank you cards this month...and I know from the responses I got, they were really appreciated. The card can be used again, as I wrote their thank you on a post it!

The stampset is the hostess set "Because I Care". You can get this set for free...all you need to do is host a qualifying workshop, your house or mine, and it is yours. I still have openings up to Aug 20th...then not again till September.

NEW CLUB....by special request, I am forming a stamping club. This is a six month club, and it is so easy to join. You commit to placing a $45.00 order once a month for 6 months. One of the months you will be the hostess and earn a free stampset plus $20.00 in free merchandise. We will meet at my house, on the 3rd Wed of every month, do a couple of projects, place our orders...and best of all STAMP and CREATE! You can bring a guest, or get outside orders...and earn even more hostess benefits. The club will start in Sept so let me know if you are interested in joining. There is plenty of room so if we fill one club, we can start another, and another...etc.

BONUS! When you join the club, you will make at least 2 projects per month. In addition, in your "HOSTESS" month, you will receive from me and $10.00 gift certificate to use anytime. Use it in your hostess month to get more goodies, save it for future classes or specials...give it away and introduce a friend to the joys of stamping...
